Although we often think about God as our Father, the image of the parent/child relationship may not resonate with adults who do not see themselves as a ‘child’.  Instead, William Barry, spiritual director and prolific author, suggests we think of the kind of relationship adult children have with their parents as a model for our relationship with God.
