Listening and Downloading Instructions
There are two ways to listen to the programs on this site:
Listen Online
All of the Everyday Faith podcasts are encoded as mp3 files, the most universal format for listening on various devices. To listen online, all you need to do is have a media player application such as Quick Time Player, Real Player, Windows Media Player, etc. All of these media player applications can be downloaded for free. With any of these applications, you can listen to any show at any time through your computer. In these cases, the shows reside on the EverydayFaith.net server while you listen to them
But, you may not want to be tied to your computer, in which case, you can easily download the programs to your computer. The programs can then be transferred to an iPod or other mp3 player, or they can be burned to a CD. Then you can listen any place, any time. Read the dowloading instructions in the next column to see how easy it is to download the shows to your computer.
Download to Your Computer (for portability!)
If you already download songs and/or podcasts to your computer, then you probably already have iTunes. If you don’t have iTunes, click here for a free download.
Once you have iTunes, all you need to do is click on the Subscribe button (with the purple podcast icon) that is found on the Home page and the Archive page.
Once you click on Subscribe, you will automatically be taken to iTunes where you will see the following. The rotating orange circle next to Everyday Faith indicates that the first show is downloading.
After about a minute, the rotating orange button will be replaced by a white dot.
Click on the small white arrow just left of the words “Everyday Faith”. Once you do you will see a list of the programs available for downloading:
The first program withe the checked box has already been downloaded to your computer. The remaining programs with unchecked boxes and with the word “GET” next to them are available for downloading. Click the word “GET” for any additional shows you would like to download.
Whenever you open ITunes, iTunes will automatically check if there are new Everyday Faith programs available to be downloaded to your computer. If there are, iTunes will automatically download them for you.
Once the programs are on your computer, you can download them to your iPod or burn them to CDs so that you can take them with you and listen at your convenience.
